Muerren is car-free and located on a sunny terrace in front of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau (UNESCO World Heritage) in the heart of the Swiss Alps.
Muerren can be reached in 2 ways:
1> From Lauterbrunnen by mountain railway Lauterbrunnen-Muerren (BLM) or
2> from Stechelberg with the Schilthorn aerial cableway
Arriving by car:
Interlaken is connected to the Swiss motorway network. Take the "Wilderswil" exit, continue along the well-maintained main road to Lauterbrunnen and Stechelberg. The parking garage in Lauterbrunnen is connected directly to the Lauterbrunnen-Muerren (BLM) and there are luggage carts available for free. In Stechelberg, there are plenty of outdoor parking at the Schilthorn aerial cableway that takes you by cable car to Muerren.
Arriving by train:
International connections (ICE, EC, IC) travel to Interlaken Ost regularly. From there, take the BOB (Berner Oberland train) to Lauterbrunnen and from there take the BLM (Lauterbrunnen-Muerren aerial cableway and train) and enjoy the panoramic ride to Muerren.
Traveling by plane:
Zurich (ZRH) is the largest airport in Switzerland with the most flight connections. You will also find international flights to Belp
(BRN), Basel (MLH) and Geneva (GVA). As an alternative to the train, we can arrange a taxi transfer to Lauterbrunnen (eg Zurich-Lauterbrunnen CHF 500.00 for 5
people) or a helicopter ride (for example, from Zurich Airport to Muerren for CHF 2'550.00 for 4 persons).
When you get in Muerren from train or aerial cableway, there are less than 10 minutes on foot to the hotel. You will find us in the
village center next to the
Bottom station of the Allmendhubel. Just follow the upper village street.
